BEAUTY (If you are allergic to any of the ingredients mentioned in the recepie, do not use it.)

  • Dirty Hair-day tricks What do you do when you don not have time to wash your hair?
    • Do not pile on the styling products-they will make hair look dirtier.. Instead spritz your hair with water and little light spray gel, then blow-style as you normally would.
    • Use pretty hair sticks or combs to creat a quick French twist or chignon, it is easy, loooks sophisticated and no one can tell that you have not shampooed.
    • To unflatten slept-on bangs, heat them with a blow-dryer about 20 seconds while using a round brush to fliff them out.
    • For fine hair that gets oily, sprinkle baby powder on the roots, it works as a dry shampoo, absorbing excess oil. After a minute, brush hair throughly to remove the powder.

  • Dandruff Hair loss also happens due to dandruff residing on your scalp. To get rid off the dandruff try these tips:
    • Comb your hair 3 times a day. This will prevent the dandruff from accumulating around the root of the hair folicle.
    • Stop using oily products on your hair.
    • Wash your hair regularly with shampoo.
    • Home Recipe:
      • 1/2 cup water
      • 1 lemon juice
Apply it on the roots of the hair. Massage your hair and scalp. Wash off after 1/2 hour or when dry. Apply it 2 to 3 times a week.

  • Permed Hair When you perm your hair you are subjecting it to the harsh effects of chemicals like peroxide and ammonia. If you had hair that was already falling or unhealthy, it is quite likely that you have only aggravated the problem by perming it. Now that the damage is done you can only try your best to prevent it from going further. To do this you must lavish much care and attention on your hair!!
    • Pamper it with a deep conditioning treatment like a warm oil massage and hot towel treatment once a week.
    • Do not pull or rub your hair while you are massaging it. Use very gentle massaging strokes like circular movements with the tip of your fingers. Pay special attention to the nape of your neck by massaging it gently. This improves circulation and lessens hair loss.
    • Use a very gentle shampoo, like Johson's baby shampoo to wash your hair as often as necessary.
    • Condition your hair every time you wash it.
    • Wrap a hot towel around your hair 3-4 times while the conditioner is on it.
    • Trim your hair every 6 weeks as this helps prevent split ends.
    • Continue the medication that you are taking but only if it is under a doctor's supervision. DO NOT self-medicate as this can only complicate matters.

  • Straightening your Hair DO NOT attempt to straighten your hair by yourself at home. Go to a salon and let a professional do it for you. The best way to chose a salon is to check with others who have had their hair straightened - word of mouth.

Make sure your hair is in good condition. It is necessary to prepare your hair for the treatment. Do this by trimming your hair to get rid of dry and split ends, deep condition it after each wash - basically thoroughly pamper it!

  • Curly Hair When heat and humidity start to make your curls go haywire, it's best to keep them as natural as possible. That means putting away the hair dryer and brush for the summer. Curly hair is naturally more porous than straight hair, and it absorbs the extra moisture in the air, causing it to expand and frizz. Most stylists recommend using a rich, moisturising conditioner daily. Let your hair dry naturally; if you must use the hairdryer, use a diffuser attachment. Most important of all, remember once your hair is dry, don't touch it. Keep your fingers out of your hair, and you'll be frizz-free all day!!
  • Know Your Skin Type:
The skin is considered to be of four types mainly:
    • NORMAL
Only lucky people have normal skin. A skin type that is not oily or dry but just normal.
    • OILY TYPE
Oily skin secretes lot of oil from the skin glands makin the face look shiny and oily.Is more prone to pimples, blackheads, white heads and open pores.
    • DRY TYPE
This type of skin always lacks moisture, feels dry and streatchy. Is more prone to wrinkles.
    • COMBINATION TYPE
Means having combination of both oily and dry skin. Nose, chin, forehead will be oily (like a T) while rest of the face will be dry or normal.

Each type of skin should be looked after in a different way.
If your skin is oily it is good because on oily skin wrinkles do not appear soon, as they would if you had a dry skin. The disadvantage of having oily skin is that it attracts a lot of dust so it needs to be kept clean else the pores of the skin gets clogged and pimples appear.
  • Allergic to SOAP: Stop using soap, it's just as simple as that! Soaps contain ingredients that do not suit certain skins. Instead use natural products to cleanse your skin. The best home remedy is coarsely ground green gram flour mixed with a pinch of haldi. Wash your face with this. You can also use dry orange peel powder, mixed with oatmeal.

  • Cucumber face pack for pimples:
    • 1 tsp cucumber juice
    • 1/2 tsp lemon juice
    • 1 tsp Rose water

Mix the ingredients together also add some juice from mint leaves. Apply on your face with cotton. This will help make the skin clean, pimple free, shiny and spotless.
  • Fed up of oily skin: For Oily skin and pimples on it apply carrot juice on your face 2 times a day.
  • Bringing the Glow back to your skin:
Drink 12-15 glasses of water in the morning. Eat fresh fruits and green vegetables.Avoid calorie-laden food. All this would bring the glow back to your face. For the dark circles, apply cucumber juice or raw potato juice and leave it overnight. Make sure you are not constipated as this too can cause dark circles and make your skin look dull. Last but not least, wear brightly colored clothes. This will make a world of difference to your skin. The right colors could add the required sparkle to your face.
  • Bright, glowing face:
    • 1 tsp plain yogurt
    • pinch of turmeric powder
Apply on the face regularly and wash after 2 minutes with luke warm water.
  • Glowing face :
    • few Milk drops
    • few Honey drops
Mix together and apply wash after 4 minutes with warm water every night before sleeping.
  • Beauty with lemons : All lemon based beauty recepies are good for oily skins. They may or may not suite dry skin.
    • Bleaching agent:Mix equal drops of lemon juice and milk. Apply on your face every night for 5 mins and wash off. The color of your skin will improve.
    • Natural cleanser: Mix eqaul drops of lemon juice and water. Apply on your face with cotton wool to clean your skin as a cleansing lotion. Good on oily skin.

  • Close open pores on your face: Open pores are the result of having oily skin or putting makeup all through out the day and not wiping the off at night before sleeping. Clean your face every night before sleeping allowing your skin to breath fresh air and relax.

  • Face pack for open pores: Mix equal quantity of water and vinegar Apply and wash off after 4 minutes. This will help close open pores in the skin.
  • Prevent black heads from appearing on the face. When the face is not cleaned regularly the dust settles down in the pores of the skin forming black heads. To prevent the black heads from appearing on the face wash and clean face with soap and water and then use a cleansing lotion to clean further, after coming home and before sleeping at night daily.
  • Removing the black heads on the face. First, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Then soften the blackheads and open up the pores by either of these two methods:
Hold your head over a bowl of steaming water for a few minutes. Let the steam work on the skin. Apply hot compresses to the affected area. Dip a face towel into water that is as hot as your hands can bear.
Ring the towel out and place on the blackheads and leave until the towel has cooled down. Make sure you are working in good light so that you can see exactly what you are doing.
Now wrap your fingers in tissues, and with your fore fingers (not your nails), gently squeeze on either side of the black heads. If the plug has been sufficiently softened it should come out. If the black head doesn't come out easily, leave it for another time because the more you squeeze, the more irritated your skin will become and you will cause scarring and possible infection.

  • Cure for black heads: Face Pack to remove the black heads from the face:
    • 6 oz (1/2 cup) boil water
    • 27 gms soda bicarbonate.
Mix soda bicarbonate in boiled/distilled water and apply this mixture on the face.

  • Applying lemon juice on the face will also help remove black heads from the face. Good for oily skin.

  • Applying milk on the face regularly also helps in removing black heads forever. Good for dry skin.
  • Recipes for beautiful skin:
Recipes for easy at-home facials.Whip up one at least once a month for fabulous skin.

  • Face Masks:
    • How you look depends on what you eat and drink and what you apply on your face. The ideal skincare routine is a daily procedure of cleansing, toning and moisturising.
    • To supplement this you must use a face pack from time to time.
    • Face packs stimulate circulation, tone facial muscles giving the face an instant lift, and maintain the elasticity of the skin.
    • They cleanse your pores by drawing out deep-seated impurities.
    • They can safely be called mini-facials!
    When Applying face packs:

  • Exfoliate first to see better results.
  • Apply the pack with your fingertips. The skin on your face is extremely delicate and doing this lets you feel the amount of pressure you are applying.
  • Do not apply the pack too close to your eyes and mouth. The skin here is ultra-delicate and when the pack dries and tightens on your skin it may harm these areas.
  • Apply cotton pads soaked in cucumber juice or tea bags soaked in iced water, on your eyes.
  • You could also crush mint and apply around eyes. These are great for under-eye circles or to relieve stress.
  • Lie down. Not only is this extremely relaxing, it also prevents your skin from being stretched the wrong way.

    Soothing Packs

    Packs for normal skin

    Packs for dry skin

    Packs for oily skin

    Packs for combination skin

    Packs for patchy skin

  • Mint pack
Soak 1 tbsp Fuller's earth in 1 tbsp of curd for half an hour. Then add 1 tsp mint paste to it. Mix well. Apply the paste on the face and leave it to dry. Wash off with luke warm water and follow up with a cold water rinse.
  • Pear pack
Mash ripe pears, sieve, and apply the paste as is or mix it with powdered milk. Keep on for 20 minutes and rinse with cold water.
  • Aging skin (Wrinkles):
    • Aging is something that cannot be prevented or stopped but you can fake it. Wrinkles are the first sign of aging. To keep them away the care of skin must be started early before they appear because once they appear there is no remedie that can get rid of them except through plastic surgeory.
    • Wrinkles appear due to lack of proteins and water in your diet.
    • Tip is to drink lot of water and eat a lot of protien rich food and daily massage your face withAlmond Oil.

  • Wrinkles around the eyes: To lighten the wrinkles around your eyes, dip cotton in fresh orange juice and put it on your eyes for half hour everyday. You should see some difference over a period of time.
  • Black Circles around the Eyes:

Dark circles are probably the commonest beauty problem faced by women the world over. They are unattractive dark patches formed under the eyes due to a variety of reasons. Why they occur, what you can do to get rid of them and how you can conceal them read below.
    • Avoid reading in poor or flickering light as this causes unnecessary strain to your eyes and can also lead to bloodshot eyes and dark circles.
    • If you work for long hours on a computer, rest your eyes every hour or so by "palming" them (gently press down with the heel of your palm on your eyes) or look at a green or blue object for a few minutes (these are soothing colors and calm the eyes).
    • Wear sunglasses when out in the sun, since squinting can cause severe wrinkling under the eyes.
    • Never pull, stretch or rub the skin under your eyes. It is extremely delicate and very susceptible to wrinkling if handled roughly.
    • Do not use face packs or astringents around the eye contour area. They cause wrinkling when they dry and pull the skin.
    • Pamper your eyes often by placing cotton pads soaked in cold milk/ potato slices/cucumber slices/tea bags soaked in lukewarm water on them.
    • When removing make-up, apply the make-up remover with gentle strokes on the eye area, wait for 10 seconds and then wipe off with damp cotton wool pads. The right technique to use when wiping off the remover and make-up is: Press the damp cotton wool down on your eyes firmly yet very gently and wipe upwards and outwards in one fluid motion.
    • Make sure to get your beauty sleep everyday!!

    Causes and Prevention
    • Dark circles can be caused for several reasons. Each can be tackled differently to get rid of them.
    • They could be hereditary. These cannot be cured but only concealed with the help of make-up.
    • Constipation and poor bowel movements. Drink at least 11/2 litres of water as you wake up every morning. Continue to drink plenty of water during the day as it helps flush out the toxins from your body.
    • Lack of sleep and insomnia. Get your 8 hours of sleep everyday.
    • Stress or overwork. Long hours in front of a computer or the television. Relax your eyes with relaxation exercises and by splashing them with cool water often.
    • High blood pressure. Control the cholesterol levels in your food and control your weight.
    • Deficiency of Vitamin C. Supplement your diet with a Vitamin C tablet everyday.

    Simple Remedies
    • Add 2-3 drops of lemon juice to some icy cold milk and soak cotton pads in this mixture. Apply on your eyes and relax for 15 minutes.
    • Apply potato slices on your eyes and keep on for 15-20 minutes.
    • Apply cucumber juice on your eyes and leave on for 20 minutes.
    • Orange juice also works wonders for dark circles when applied daily.

  • Mild Bleaching Cream:
    • 1 tsp cucumber juice
    • 1 tsp glycerine
    • 1 tsp Rose Water
    Mix ingredients and apply.
  • Makeup Meltdown You are most vulnerable to makeup meltdown at lunchtime. Instead of loading up on powder to banish shine, try blotting papers. It will lift away oil without disturbing your makeup.
  • Skin that feels clean in hot summer
    • Even if your sin feels grimy in hot weather resist the temptation to over-cleanse. All that does is that it strip your skin and leaves it tight and flaky. Skin is not dirtier just because it is sweatier.
    • You do not need to use strong cleanser or cleanse more often. Switch from a creamy cleansers (which can leave skin shiny this time of the year) to soap-free liquids or gels.
    • Toners may feel refreshing but those with high alcohol content may remove too much of skins natural oils, causing skin to produce more oils to compensate. Stick with alcohol free version and stick with it.
    • For oily skin: Skip moisturizer altogether or try one that absorbs oil.
    • For Combination skin or Normal skin type: Use light-weight, oil free moisturizer
    • Dry skin becomes less dry in summer humidity, so a lighter moisturizer may work for it.

  • Healthy summer color
    • If you want to look tan but are smart to know that sunbathing is a bad idea: Try light dusting of Bronzing powder over your entire face. Choose a shade similar to the color you tan naturally. For most people that is either golden or reddish.
    • Apply with a fluffy powder brush. Use a touch more on your cheeks and you won't need to wear blush.
    • Self tanners are more of a commitment, sine they last for a few days.Apply them evenly or you will wind up with streaks.
    • To avoid the look of a tan line mix a bit of moisturizer into the self-tanner on your jaw and neck.

  • ABCs of FOUNDATION
    Foundation BASICS
    • Foundation forms the base of your make-up. It should make your complexion look as smooth and flawless as possible and give you an even skin tone.
    • Foundations come in several different colors, but it is important to choose the right one if you do not want to end up looking cakey, or as if your face is two shades lighter than the rest of you!!
    • Also, you need to identify the kind of skin you have and choose your foundation accordingly. Oily skin needs a water-based foundation that prevents further oiliness.
    • A dry skin should be covered with a cream-based foundation which also helps moisturise it.

    Foundation COLOR Basics
To identify the color of foundation you need to use, first analyse your skin color. Though everybody has a unique skin color, there are a few basic color groups into which skins can be divided -- yellow complexions, which do not have too much redness (an inherent quality of very fair skin); orange, a mix of red and yellow; red or pinkish skin tones. Indian skin tones cover all these groups. Never choose a foundation that is not in your own color group. Instead, if you must and can't find the exact shade, go for one that is very slightly darker than you skin color group. Never try to get fairer by using a foundation!!

    How to choose your Foundation:

    TYPES of Foundations:

    APPLYING:

    • Cake Foundation:
If it is a dual use cake foundation (that can be used wet or dry), use a damp sponge. Squeeze out excess water and sweep the sponge across the cake in one smooth motion. The damper the sponge the heavier will be the coverage of the foundation. A drier sponge will poduce lighter more natural looking coverage. Do not overload the sponge as this will give your skin a streaky appearance. Apply the foundation in smooth, even strokes along the larger areas of your face - cheeks and forehead. Blend well along the jawline and under the neck to avoid a "tidemark" effect where the gradation of foundation between neck and face can be clearly seen. Do not put too much foundation near your hairline as this will give an artificial look. Check to see if the coverage is smooth. The finished look A barely-there, no make-up look that is matte and helps the skin to look non-shiny.
    • Liquid Foundation:
Pour a little foundation into your palm and dab the sponge in it taking care not to overload the sponge. Using gentle strokes, cover your cheeks and forehead first then follow up on the remaining areas. Check for unevenness around the nose and eyes. Pat on some translucent powder to finish the look. The finished look Smooth coverage and a soft natural appearance.
    • Color Correctors:
These look horrible and you would probably never want to use them on your face but looks can be deceptive and they work wonderfully to conceal unwanted blemishes! Use them only on the spots that require their coverage. Apply your foundation as usual, over them.

  • Summer Foundation You may get sweaty just thinking of wearing foundation in summer, but the right one can help you look fresher. New this season is the formulas designed for combination skin. They control the t-Zone oil, yet wont leave nonoily areas feeling dry and tight, as some oil-free foundation do.
  • Summer eye-shadow To keep eye-shadow from creasing use an eye shadow base underneath. Wear them from lash line to crease, with nude shadow on the brow bone.
  • Summer mascara To prevent mascara from collecting under the eyes try washable waterproof formulas. They stay until you remove them with soap. Oil in the skin can break down other mascaras even water proof ones so use name brands.
  • Summer powder Use powder blushes-They are easier to apply then creams and gels, and feel lighter on the skin. Finish with oil-free pressed powder- it outlasts brushed -on loose powder.
  • Summer underarm tactics
The most effective deodorants are those that reach into skin's pores.
    • Roll-ons and sticks rate highest.
    • For best results apply to slightly damp skin.
    • keep your arm-pits shaved. Even a little hair provides a home for odor producing bacteria.
    • use a combination antiperspirant-deodorant-it will fight odor better than deodorant alone.
    • because effectiveness of a given brand varies widely among different users, keep shopping till you find the one that works for you the best.
    • For those who need extra protection, keep a spare solid antiprespirant deodorant in your desk.

  • HAND CARE:
  • Smooth soft hands: Every time the hands are washed with soap and water or used to clean dishes, apply moisturizer to your hands.
  • Smoothen rough dry hands: Home made moisturizer (add few drops of glycerine to few drops of lemon juice) and apply on the hands every night before sleeping. Wash off in the morning.
  • Strong Nails
Rub a piece of cut lemon on your clean nail polish free nails. Nails become stiff, shiny and hard. They will not break easily.
  • Beauty Rules to Remember
  • Face Pack Rule: Before applying any kind of pack on your face clean your face skin properly with soap and water, pat dry with a towel. the effect of any pack will get reduced if applyed on a dirty skin. Face pack helps in restoring the natural look and shine of the skin.
  • Drying Wet Face: Always dry water from the face with the towel by dabbing the towel on the face slowly. Never wipe the face by rubbing the towel. Continous rubbing of the towel on the face over a period of time will loosen the facial muscles causing the skin to sag down.
  • Rule for massaging the face at any time: While massaging the face or applying lotion, cream or face pack on the face, always use fingers in upward direction starting from neck to face or light strokes in upward direction over the face with finger tips. Downward movement of the stroke will cause the skin of the face to droop down.
  • Before Touching your face: Never touch your face with dirty fingers. Before touching your face wash your fingers and hands.
  • Use Cotton: Always try to use cotton instead of fingers to apply lotion, cream or moistureizer on your face.
  • Controlling Acne
Nearly half of women have mild to moderate acne. Men are not exempt either. Acne develops when sebum(an oily substance that lubricates hair and skin) and dead skin cells plug hair follicles.
    To control outbreaks
    • Avoid oily cosmetics, sunscreens and hair products. Use products labelled "oil free" or "noncomedogenic".
    • Wash twice a day with a gentle cleanser. But don't overdo it. Scrubbing too hard or too often can worsen acne.
    • Try over the counter acne product containing benzoyl peroxide, sulfur, resorcinol or salicylic acid. These dry excess oil and promote skin peeling. Alpha-hydroxyl products may improve overallskin appearance.
    • Know your triggers. If a certain food consistently aggravates your acne, don't eat it. If sun worsens your acne avoid exposure.
    • Don't pick or squeeze blemishes. Infection or scarring may result.

    HEALTH

  • Poison Ivy
  • Natural cures for bug bite, Sunburn, motion sickness etc....
  • That Embarrassing Itch
  • That waxy buildup
  • Do's and Dont's when you take Antibiotics
  • Fitness
  • Fatigue
  • Constipation
  • Common Cold
  • Flue
  • Stress
  • Exercise your way to a longer life.
  • Poison Ivy: Poison ivy, Poison Sumac, Poison Oak are three plants that grow causing redness, swelling, itching and blisters.

Learn to avoid and recognize poisonous plants. "Leaves of three" leave them alone.

  • Wear pants and long sleeved shirt when out in wooded areas and wash your skin and your clothes immediately upon your return. Thse plant resin that causes the posion ivy rash can cling to clothind. If not washed out, it can cause reactions months or even years later.

  • Kill any posioness plants in your yard with herbicide. Simply uprooting them may not prevent them from growing back. Never burn or compost posioness plants. If burned, the resin released can cause severe reactions.

  • Consider using an over the counter product called "bentoquatam"(ivy block), if you can't avoid contact. This lotion forms a protective visible, clay like barrier against the substance in the poisonous plants that cause the rash.

  • If you come in contact with a poisonous plant, wash everything exposed to the rash-causing substance-yourself, your clothes, jewelry, shoes, pet, equipment and tools.
    NATURAL CURES
  • Poison Ivy Relax in an oatmeal bath. Buy Aveeno, a special colloidal oatmeal, at the drugstore, or the rolled oats you have in your kitchen. Place 1 cup of uncooked oats in a pair of panty hose, knot the top. Add this to a bathtub filled with warm water (hot water might irritate the rash), soak in tug for 20 minutes. (Be careful getting out of the bath--oatmeal leaves a slippery residue).
  • Bee Stings: Slice an onion in half(it does not matter what kind) and rub it over the bite. Onion contains an enzime that breaks down the prostaglandins--compound that causes pain and inflammation.
  • Insect Bite: Don't scratch--try baking soda. Mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda with enough water to make a paste and apply it to the bite.
  • Keep mosquitoes away: Keep mosquitoes and other hungary pests away by dabbing lemon-scented citronells oil on your skin and clothing.
  • Motion Sickness:Ginger taken as tea or in capsules relieves nausea in kids and adults.
    • Ginger root
    • Water
    • honey
To make the tea slice a 2 inch piece of fresh gingerroot. In a large covered pot bring a quart of water to boil. Add the ginger. Simmer for 15 minutes. Sweeten the tea with sugar and honey. Drink 1 cup about a half hour before you set off on your trip. Take the rest with you in case you need it in the water bottle.
If you prefer pill then take two 250 millgrams ginger capsules before you leave then 2 capsules every four hours if queasiness persists.
  • Sunburn: Help skin heal with aloe vera. It contains 100% aloe. Gel or cream containing it at the top of the ingredients list.
    • cream with aloe vera
    • Vit-E capsules.
Mix cream containing aloe vera with oil from vitamin-E capsule, this eases inflamation and promotes healing. Don't use anything on the blistering sunburn -it might make things worse.
  • Indigestion Drink 1 cup of chamomile or fennel tea to calm your stomach.
Chamomille tea bags are widely available.
    To make fennel tea:
    • 1/2 teaspoon of crushed fennel seeds
    • 1 cup of boiled water
Mix and steep for 10 minutes
Or just chew on fennel seeds.
    ITCH
Everyone has hemorrhoidal veins around that rectum. When they become enlarged and inflamed they can become extremely uncomfortable, causing itching, burning and pain.
Hemorrhoids are typically caused by straining to pass hard stools. Obesity, pregnancy, childbirth, stress, diarrhea and the strain of repeatedly lifting heavy objects can also lead to hemorrhoids.
    To help prevent hemorrhoids
    • Keep your stool soft by eating plenty of fiber. Fiber-rich foods include whole grains and whole -grain products, as well as fresh fruits and vegetables. If necessary supplement your fiber intake with products such as Metamucil or Citrucel.
    • Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water each day.
    • Avoid straining during bowel movements or sitting on the toilet for long periods of time.

    WAXY BUILDUP
  • Ear wax is there for a reason. It protects the ear canal, traps dirt and slows the growth of bacteria.
When too much earwax is produced and becomes to hard to come out it becomes uncomfortable. It can be removed safely at home. Remove that wax
    • Use an eye-dropper to apply a few drops of baby oil or hydrogen per oxide in ear canaltwice a day for several days. this will soften the wax. Over the counter preparations are also available.
    • When the wax is softened, use a 3-ounce rubber bulb syringe to gently squirt warm water (heated to body temperature)into the ear canal.
    • Keep your head upright while you are squirting, then turn it to let the water drainout. Repeat until the extra wax falls out.(Don't try this with kids).

DO's and Dont's when you take Antibiotics
    • Do not take antibiotics unnecessarily:
If you think antibiotics treat cold and flue then one should know that cold and flue are caused by viruses, not bacteria. There is no instance at all for antibiotics to be used against them. You have to cure it yourself. The illness may be bacterial if you have a fever, sore throat or colored mucus.
    • Do not stop antibiotics in mid-cycles: Almost half of Americans stop taking antibiotics before there prescription are finished. BAD MOVEThe first few doses of an antibiotic eliminate the bacteria most susceptible to the drug, but there are still millions of bacteria. These may mutate and become stronger. The next time you get sick, you may be fighting bacteria that are resistant to your prescription..
    • Do not take leftover antibiotics or your friend's antibiotics: The problem here is that you will not be getting a full course of treatment. Plus old medicine may no longer be effective. Your friends pills may not be the right antibiotics and dosage or you might be allergic.
    • Do not take antibiotics to prevent illness: You might be tempted to take antibiotics if your spouse has strep throat. Taking and antibiotic for no good reason sets you up to catch another infection, since antibiotic is removing the healthy bacteria that protects you from other harmful bacteria.
      FITNESS
Eight ways to live longer Following points will help both men and women to achieve and maintain optimal health throughout thier lives.
      • Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.
      • Take adequate amounts of Vit-D and calcium.
      • Avoid dieting for weight loss.
      • Avoid excessive intake of alcohol.
      • Ask your physician about your individual need for regular screening for breast cancer and colon cancer.
      • Engage in enjoyable physical activities such as walking for 30 minutes each day.
      • Stop Smoking.

      FATIGUE
Fatigue is feeling tired, drained of energy and exhausted. Fatigue makes it hard for you to do normal daily activities.
      • Eating too much and "crash dieting" are both hard on your body. Don't skip breakfast. Stay away from rich, sugary snacks. Eat lots of food with iron, whole-grain breads and cereals, and raw fruits and vegetables.
      • Exercise can give you more energy, especially if you sit all day at work, and it can calm you, too. Try taking a walk in the open air if you feel tired. It can help.
      • Drink lots of water. Open a window when you can.
      • A good night's sleep can make you feel much better. But you can relax during the day, too. Take breaks during your work day. Practice deep breathing or meditation.
      • Make time for some peace and quiet.
      • Alcohol is a central nervous system depressant, which is the last thing you need if you are chronically tired.
      • Don't lean on caffeine. Caffeine may give you a temporary jolt of energy, but in few hours you will be just as tired as before. In place of coffee a caffeine free herbal tea containing ginger root is better. It tastes good and is mildly stimulating, but there is no rebound effect.
      • Rev up on Vitamin C. Low intake of Vitamin C can also contribute to fatigue. Iron deficiency is one of the most common causes of fatigue. If you are not anemic a slight deficiency can affect your energy level, you may benefit from getting more iron in your diet.
      • Drinking some Orange juice or taking a vitamin C supplement along with iron rich vegetables will help the body to absprbe more iron from your food.

      CONSTIPATION
Eat foods high in dietary fiber such as bran, whole-grain breads and cereals, fresh fruits and vegetables daily.
      • Drink plenty of water and other liquids (at least eight glasses a day)
